Let’s learn what you need to bring for your flight

#1 thing to bring for your flight: carry-on

The number one thing to bring for your flight is a carry-on. The type of carry-on is dependent on how you decide to pack. However, all airlines allow at least one. You may bring a duffle bag, tote, side-bag, backpack or luggage sized carry-on. It’s up to you. Although, if there are stand-by passengers and the flight becomes full, you may be required to have your carry-on checked if it’s on the bigger side. Why bring a carry-on? They allow you access to immediate needs. Some folks buy snacks after TSA. Put those in the carry-on. Some have personal items they need access to onboard. Put them in a carry-on. Always bring one!

#2 thing to bring for your flight: real id

One day real ids will be required to pass TSA. Go ahead and get yours now so you will be ready for your next trip. The use of real ids has been a topic of discussion for a few years now. Thus, some have put obtaining one off. However, you don’t want to be caught off guard once they are finally required. Although waiting in the DMV line is a headache, it’s better than being stuck in TSA!!!

#3 thing to bring: passport

Yes, you should bring a passport. Even if you’re staying in the country. Passports serve as a valid form of identification. Always carry at least two government issued IDs when traveling. Be sure to store them in a safe place. For example, store them in a special compartment within your carry-on.

#4 thing to bring: headphones

The fourth thing to bring for a successful flight is headphones. Why? People use phones for absolutely everything these days. Some airlines allow complimentary access to wi-fi on the plan. In addition, some grant limited access. For example, you can choose from a queue of movies, free of charge. You may decide you want to splurge and purchase the wi-fi package. Either way, bring the headphones. Even if you’re a reader. Bring the headphones. You don’t want to be the person who finds a movie to watch but failed to bring headphones. Now you’re contemplating whether to squint and read the subtitles or blast the volume so folks 3 rows up will hear too. It’s worth the extra thought.

#5 thing to bring: travel pillow

Last, but not least, bring a travel pillow. There’s nothing worse than a repeated attempt to rest on your flight, but you can’t because YOUR NECK HURTS! Or you can’t get in the right position because you’re in a tight spot. A travel pillow creates space for the neck and allows you to create your own vibe in a tight spot. Flying first class? Even better. You’ll sleep like a baby.
